GECO presents “Enhancing your Child’s Emotional IQ” Dr. Melba Nicholson Thursday, April 24, 2008 7-8:30 p.m. Hinsdale Middle School 100 South Garfield Avenue, Hinsdale Some argue that emotional intelligence (including self-awareness, empathy, and social competence in interpersonal relationships) is a better indicator of future success than IQ. Emotional literacy is not fixed early in life – it can be taught. Come learn more! Dr. Nicholson is professor at Northwestern University and a licensed clinical psychologist at The Family Institute at Northwestern. She earned her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in clinical/community psychology with a specialization in developmental psychology.
